FameLab is the world's leading science communication competition. It is designed to inspire, motivate and develop scientists and engineers to actively engage with the public and stakeholders. And in 2021, for the first time ever, FameLab Ireland is going entirely virtual! That’s right, this year whether you’re taking part or cheering someone on you can do so from the comfort of your own home.

Our FameLab Ireland 2021 competition is now open! If you are aged 18+, work in/study any aspect of science and think you can explain a scientific concept to a general audience in just three minutes, then why not enter? You could become the new face of science in Ireland, represent our country at the FameLab International finals in the UK, and open doors to national and global opportunities in science communication!
In May-June 2021, we will hold four virtual heats in Limerick, Cork, Galway and Dublin, so just pick the heat that is closest to you (that might be where you live, work or study). We also offer science communication training at every step on your FameLab journey. This includes online tips/tricks briefings, regional workshops before each heat, or master classes for those who progress further into the competition. Would you like an evening of fast-paced science with some of Ireland's best upcoming science communicators? Or perhaps you know someone who's taking part in a FameLab regional heat and want to lend your support?
By joining the online audience you can create a lively atmosphere for our four FameLab Ireland regional heats and you will even get to choose your favourite talk at the end.
