Join us on 31 March 2025 12:00-13:00 (GMT) for an online Country Learning Session: UK Ireland Higher Education Postgraduate Mobility Research.
Janet Ilieva of Education Insights and Gill Roe of Southern Cross Consulting will present highlights from the research which explored postgraduate mobility between the UK and Ireland. It examined the type of interventions, initiatives, and supports that would provide opportunities for postgraduate researchers (early career researchers and PhD students) in a UK Ireland context.
The research was conducted through a mixed methods approach and included a desk analysis of relevant literature and data, plus semi-structured interviews with selected stakeholders from the UK and Ireland higher education sectors. This research is part of British Council Ireland's research and insight work on student mobility between the UK and Ireland. It follows on from previous research on undergraduate higher education mobility flows between UK and Ireland, launched in September 2023.
During the webinar we will also be joined by Erika Boak, British Council Regional Education Director EU who will speak about the importance of connectedness and mobility in the postgraduate and research space between the UK and Ireland. This session will be hosted by Kerry McCall Magan, British Council Ireland Country Director.
This online session will consist of a short presentation followed by a Q&A with the researchers. The webinar will also be recorded for those who cannot attend.
