90 Youth Voices

To mark its 90th anniversary, the British Council brought together 90 young leaders in June-July 2024 from 43 countries for #90YouthVoices, a global network focused on driving positive change. The participants—activists, journalists, artists, and entrepreneurs—are united by their commitment to social, technological, and climate justice, despite facing shared challenges like violence, discrimination, and lack of opportunities.

After a selection process, these youth voices came together in the UK to learn, collaborate, and develop solutions to shape the future of their communities. Their journey included workshops on intercultural leadership and content creation, followed by a study visit London followed by either Manchester, Cardiff, Edinburgh, or Belfast, where they engaged with local communities, policymakers, and civil society leaders. Key lessons included the importance of inclusivity in decision-making, listening to diverse perspectives, and empowering youth to drive change. By working together, these young leaders are committed to tackling societal challenges and creating innovative solutions for a more just and sustainable world.
